Payroll Administrator

Located in the Niagara Region, our client is currently looking for a Full-Time Payroll Administrator.   As a successful candidate for this position, you are a highly self-motivated individual with 3-5 years of experience in payroll function and will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Process full-cycle bi-weekly payroll according to government legislation and company policies, accurately and on-time

 

  • Handle inquires and provides professional service to all employees and external contacts

 

  • Prepare, balance and remit WSIB payments and Union Dues

 

  • Administer employee benefit plans, billing, and reconciliations

 

  • Payroll tax set-up, deduction reconciliation, T4 reconciliation

 

  • Ensure that all government remittances are processed in a timely manner

 

  • Produce, review and submit ROEs online to Service Canada

 

  • Create and maintain employee files accurately

 

  • Prepare and balance month-end journal entries

 

  • Perform year-end balancing and reporting

 

  • Other duties as required

  • Legislative and compliance (ability to interpret relevant legislation).
  • Ability to troubleshoot the system, independently and with the assistance of any applicable service providers.

 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, intermediate to advanced Excel and computer skills

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • PCP certification, asset

 

  • 3-5 years of payroll experience (preferred)

 

  • Experience/knowledge of Canada-wide payroll legislation and regulations

 

  • Previous experience using Easypay payroll system (preferred) or similar specific software.

 

  • Basic knowledge of accounting and use of Yardi accounting system (preferred)

 

. Must be legally able to work in Canada

 

Job Type: Full-time

 

Salary Range: $47,500 – $55,000, based on experience
