Stolk Construction is currently recruiting an experienced HR & H&S Coordinator who shares our mission and principles. Their overall responsibilities will be to work alongside the Project Management team to ensure projects are managed according to strict deadlines and within budget, as well as to manage existing and potential clients to ensure continued growth. An ideal candidate for this role will possess:

Compensation: $50,000-$55,000 + bonus potential
As an HR & HS Coordinator your role is to oversee the recruitment, development, succession and safety of the most valuable resources within our organization. Key functions are noted in bold below. A summary of responsibilities within each function are also outlined.
Safety
- Review H&S policies and procedures annually and formulate new policies and procedures as required
- Participate in a 3rd party safety group
- Manage client specific safety requirements
- Ensure all required safety inspections are completed on an ongoing basis
- Develop and administer H&S training programs; work with 3rd parties where required
- Respond to safety concerns brought forward in a timely manner
- Lead by example in an effort to foster a culture of safety
- Oversee overall management of safety related incidents and/or injuries
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Regularly consult with the Project Management team to ensure effective workforce planning
- Manage various recruitment methods
- Manage our total compensation package and ensure we remain competitive in attracting and retaining top talent by conducting periodic pay surveys, etc.
- Perform applicant interviews to seek out candidates who fit our core values and company culture
- Ensure appropriate employment contracts are in place and renewed as required
- Manage the onboarding of New Hires (0-90 days)
- Oversee the employee benefit program
- Maintain employee records
- Maintain relationships with the university, college, and employment agencies
Employee Development and Retention
- Manage the employee appraisal and mentorship program
- Oversee the employee Career Pathing program
- Establish skills training opportunities and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs
- Oversee annual Q12 satisfaction surveys and results
- Drive the culture of the organization; plan appropriate events, meetings, rewards, etc.
Community
- Oversee annual United Way Employee Giving program
